After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Use motivational interviewing skills to build rapport with patients having alcohol use problems.
- Use motivational interviewing skills to deal with patient resistance when an alcohol use behavior change is needed.
- Motivate patients to make changes in alcohol use behavior or accept treatment when it is indicated.
