Treatment for Alcohol Use Problems

Goal: To be competent in being able to refer patients having relatively more severe alcohol use problems to a higher level of care and interact with the health professionals and institutions involved.

Needs and Training Gaps
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Facilitate treatment for alcohol use disorder that coordinates patient care with other health professionals in multiple contexts in a coordinated care effort.
- Recognizing when advanced care is needed
- Refer those patients who are at a higher risk level to a specialist’s care.
